Camerata d'Amici

Formed in October of 2006, Camerata d'Amici is a choral music group comprising some 40 auditioned singers. The current repertoire ranges from well-known spirituals of Dawson and Hogan to classical works by Bach, Brahms, Handel, and Mendelssohn to 20th century pieces by Duruflé, Britten, Thompson, and Whitacre.

Camerata d'Amici is seeking new members for all voice parts for its current 2014 season. Drawing singers from Ridgefield and other surrounding towns in Fairfield and Westchester counties, Camerata rehearses Thursday evenings at South Salem Presbyterian Church in South Salem, NY from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Formed in 2006 and directed by Kristin Sponheim of Redding, CT, the group's repertoire features a wide range of choral music, both sacred and secular. The 2014 season includes two concerts: a midwinter concert on March 2nd, and a year-end spring concert on May 18th.

Describing the attributes of the group Sponheim said, "Camerata d'Amici is always thrilled to welcome new singers to our group. We enjoy making music together, and communicating that music to our audiences."

Auditions will be conducted February 13-20, 2014 or by appointment. Persons interested in joining the group should contact Kristin Sponheim at kmsponheim@optonline.net to arrange an audition.
